Westland Construction has recently been awarded by Provo School District the CM/GC contract for the demolition and rebuild of Provo High School, which was originally built in the 1950’s.

Kyle Houghton, VP of Business Development for Westland stated, “This is significant project for Westland Construction, allowing us to work with outstanding partners such as Provo School District, FFKR Architects, Calder Richards, Olsen & Peterson, and Ensign Engineering.  We are excited for the opportunity to serve the needs of the district and the community in this endeavor.”

The project will commence in early 2016 starting with demolition of certain existing structures.  New construction will be accomplished with phasing, with the existing school still functioning during the project.  Substantial completion is scheduled for mid-2018.  The new campus will be situated on 29 acres, with construction of approximately 291,000 square feet of new educational facility space including academic areas, new shops & classrooms for CTE programs, auditorium, band,  choir and music rooms, new kitchen & cafeteria space, chemistry, physics and science labs, new gymnasium and other physical education support areas.  The recently built North Gymnasium and Athletic Field Complex on the north-west corner of the site will be retained.
