Hillcrest High School

ABOUT THIS PROJECT

The Hillcrest High School rebuild, driven by significant growth in the Midvale community, now accommodates 2,200 secondary students. The four-story design, the first in Utah, includes a performing arts complex, updated classrooms, advanced placement and international baccalaureate classes.

The new school emphasizes open spaces illuminated by natural light and collaborative spaces for students to gather, intended to reduce instances of bullying and provide students with a safe environment and a broader sense of place and purpose.

Extreme space restrictions made for a challenging site, which required significant phase planning to keep the school functioning during construction.
