Kinshasa Democratic Republic of Congo Temple

ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Located in the Quartier Bosoko, Ngaliema, area of Kinshasa, the temple is situated on nearly five acres, and is the fourth operating LDS temple in Africa. The temple is a single-story building with a concrete and fill structure and a steel superstructure. Unlike most other temples, the building is not topped with a statue of the Angel Moroni, although the building is designed to support one if added later. Stone from Egypt and porcelain tile from South Africa cover the floors of the building, which is over 12,000 square feet. The interior design features a subtle elegant geometric and diamond motif. Landscaping offers a vibrant array of local flora in contrast to the white plaster exterior and zinc roof.
