This project comprised the demolition of the existing grounds building & the construction of a new, 3200 SF maintenance facility. The existing maintenance shop site was reconfigured for a new boiler plant to serve the existing IHC Provo campus. State of the art, energy efficient heating equipment was installed that increased the capacity of the plant.
The new construction involved structural coordination with the existing service tunnel that runs under the new building, with the unusual challenges of relocation of existing main and auxiliary power sources, as well as the existing oxygen supply system, main water service, facility communications and fuel supplies, all without compromising the 24/7 functionality of the 4th largest operating hospital in the State of Utah. A well-coordinated design and construction team managed this project to successfully meet key delivery dates and cost parameters.
