Westland Construction renovated the Memphis Tennessee Temple for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The temple was first dedicated in 2000 and stands 10,890 square feet on a 6.35-acre site. It closed for renovation in September 2017, and the work touched its interior, exterior and grounds. The floor plan was refined for more efficient use, ventilation issues were corrected, and the entry and tower were redesigned, with the steeple raised 10 feet. Inside, new art glass carries an infinity bell flower motif in blues, greens and corals. The interior also gained gold-leaf pinstriping, crystal and brass chandeliers, white stone tile, and custom rugs with a pawpaw flower pattern. The temple was rededicated on May 5, 2019, and continues to give members across Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi a lasting place of worship built to the Church’s exacting temple standards.
